Is it? Has this been confirmed? I see lots of western media claiming Russia but don’t see any objective evidence.
Edit: it’s quite surprising how even on Lemmy, how easy it is to push an unquestioned narrative. Not just me, but anyone even questioning from mainstream narrative gets downvoted to oblivion.
That’s the point. They typically hire some useful idiot, either locally or in a neighbouring country. And after they’ve done their little act, they move back to another territory. But the Russians are never directly involved.

Tbf, if it’s a an off-the-shelf drone, there is plausible deniability. That could be anyone’s, even if Russia is the prime suspect

I would not be surprised to learn that Russia has plenty of sleeper agents with drones just waiting for a call from their handler to take it out and disrupt air traffic, or distract the security services while another operation takes place.
Maybe the drones are everywhere and its more like “clouds sighted over critical infrastructure”
