Only two elections have ever been cancelled in our history, both during world wars. Both times the ruling party didn’t keep control but instead a coalition government of varying parties was formed. The strategy of cancelling elections to keep power in the UK therefore doesn’t work, has no evidence to support it, and the ruling party don’t have the public support to even attempt let alone pull off.

Watching amateur sport is far more interesting IMO. Less predictable, more exciting, no bullshit punditry, more passion for the sport.
