No one wants to use their fabs because they’re bad!
(Not awful, but not cutting edge really any more)

That’s what I get for getting my news from Lemmy memes.
Updated my comment
So him not meeting Vance earlier may not have been a snub then ☹️ (he did)
Was he involved in any of the traditional Easter stuff? (He was)
I remember there being someone held back a year. I think it happens.
The company I worked for tried that as an experiment on how much money it saves.
Absolutely awful, even removing connectives causes problems.
You would be surprised
Yeh, my understanding is that this was a ruling on the current law, they said that if they rules otherwise, the law would be unworkable I think?
So therefore parliament should legislate properly about it rather than just trying to bend what already existed.
Is there any evidence that this is what happened?
Cool in theory
Yes. This is the technology community, not the buy European one.
Framework is pushing laptops in the right direction.
They stop being effective. At 50% if there is another supplier they will be cheaper and get picked. If you set it to 100% or 200% it doesn’t make much of a difference. Trade just stops between the countries unless there is only a single supplier for what you need.
The idea is that China can’t live without selling stuff to the US… But it’s easier for them than it would be for the US.
Everyone is fucked
Build new computer. Old computer to be a home server running Linux or something fancy.
Na, we should get rid of that idea completely. If everyone used one time like UTC (other time zones are available) and just align your working hours etc to your location.
Then 14:00 is 14:00 everywhere, just that some are asleep then, others are awake!
That’s always been true of city warfare though. Tanks are not designed for that.
That requires lots of cropland though. Hydrogen can effectively be made by offshore wind farms etc.
It might work if we reduce standard fuel requirements for cars etc enough.
Electricity has been around that long too though, yet there are no serious electric passenger planes (with a decent range)
It has it’s flaws, but it may have a higher ceiling in terms of usefulness. They say they can make it work, which is more than I hear about electric planes for example.
We should be financially encouraging 0 carbon planes, without controlling how, then let the engineers work what tech to do it with.
What are the other 0 carbon flight options? They are all flawed.
We can engineer our way through flaws with enough effort though.
…then there should be regulatory actions to help make them viable
I think he meant to just not ship to stores until all the online, pre-release orders had been delivered.
