Hey there. I don’t know of anything that would lead me to agree with you, but I’d like to understand where you’re coming from when saying that gender / sexual orientation is being forced upon you. I’d appreciate it if you could provide some examples where you consider that this is happening. I’m not a troll, and I’m not here to make fun of you. Not only would it be extremely childish of my part, but I also think the Internet and the Lemmyverse can be used for more productive things. Perhaps it can even be used for us to learn new things together…? If you prefer to talk via DMs, I can do that too.

Yeah most people are not here to discuss and are toxic, that’s why I don’t answer to most.

I am not saying the sexual orientation or gender is forced on my, but rather for games where it does not matter should not be a factor of deciding how the game is made. What I mean is in example Marvel Rivals, people want trans characters added to it. And that has implications for gameplay and such. In example there are very popular characters from Marvel universe that could be added and needed too, in specific gameplay features. But if the gender is a deciding factor, then it affects gameplay decisions of developers.

Or in games like Zelda, people want a character where you can set the gender. But this has huge implications for the story and also requires lot of work for no real benefit, other than your gender being different. Nobody should care in games about your personal gender, its not about you.

And on a personal experience in the forums, what’s really bad is, if developers don’t do it, then those people get toxic and attack everyone in the communities for not doing it. Also spamming at every post about this, even if its offtopic.

However I can understand asking for this in games where you roleplay you as a character, or even if there is a character creator. Especially in games like Cyberpunk it makes 100% sense to include these as options. So I am not talking about those kind of games.

        Hey there,

No one said you had to enter this thread. Ignore it if you don’t want to participate in the discussion. Don’t force your opinion on others. Queer folks aren’t going to feel safe in this space if you kick down their door and tell them to shut up.

You either didn’t understand my comment or whatever the case is here.

Please, feel free to explain what you meant.

I am saying that your or others gender should not be a factor deciding how games are developed.

Yes and you’ll see my removal comment states “‘games where it doesn’t belong’ you don’t get to decide what an artist does with their art”. This was true. This is true. Your statement above is clearly dictating that gender should not be a factor (or sexual identity, or frankly any other identity such as race or ability). If an artist decides it should be a factor, then that is up to them. You don’t get to dictate what the art should be.

reason: “games where it doesn’t belong” you don’t get to decide what an artist does with their art

Oh yes, I decide where it does belong to. As much as you decide what opinion I have and remove my comments. I can decide for myself where it belongs.
