The Clovis monologue in the Destiny 2 Deep Stone Crypt. Its not really an intro to a fight and more like the mastermind behind the situation introducing itself halfway through the raid. So doesnt quite fit this post but i loved it so much so im sharing it anyways.
The descent of the Moon Presence in Bloodborne is still one of my favorite intros ever.
I was going to say Ludwig for mine, but this one is epic too
Alright, the truth then. You’re right about one thing… I do need capital. And votes. Wanna know why? “I have a dream.” That one day, every person in this nation will control their OWN destiny. A land of the TRULY free, dammit. A nation of ACTION, not words. Ruled by STRENGTH, not committee. Where the law changes to suit the individual, not the other way around. Where power and justice are back where they belong: in the hands of the people! Where every man is free to think – to act – for himself! Fuck all these limp-dick lawyers and chicken-shit bureaucrats. Fuck this 24/7 Internet spew of trivia and celebrity bullshit. Fuck “American pride”. Fuck the media! Fuck all of it! America is diseased. Rotten to the core. There’s no saving it – we need to pull it out by the roots. WIpe the slate clean. BURN IT DOWN! And from the ashes, a new America will be born. Evolved, but untamed! The weak will be purged, and the strongest will thrive – free to live as they see fit, they will make America GREAT AGAIN!
What the hell are you talking about?
You still don’t get it. I’m using war as a business to get elected… so I can end war as a business! In my new America, people will die and kill for what they BELIEVE! Not for money, not for oil! Not for what they’re told is right. Every man will be free to fight his own wars!

Leaving up.
Thank you. I didn’t know Senator Armstrong wouldn’t be recognized on the games community.
Exactly what I came looking for and your post did not disappoint
I had you all wrong, you’re not greedy… you’re batshit insane!!
Sarah Kerrigan in StarCraft 2.
I am the Swarm. Armies will be shattered. Worlds will burn. Now at last, on this world, vengeance shall be mine. For I am the Queen of Blades.
Mic Drop!
Dark souls 3 Abyss Watchers live rent free in my head.
Oh man, and the environmental component hearing the clash of metal get louder as you approach the arena. FromSoft has always been good at it, but that was really peak environmental design and story telling.
Replying to myself because I remember the og Artorias and Sif intros. That series is full of cool ones though.
Psycho Mantis as they can read my mind!
oh shit i forgot about him, yeah he’s probably the coolest one intro wise ngl
Saren, in Mass Effect.
Anyone in Metal Gear Rising: Revengance of course!
Elden Ring, the Lord of Madness. Intro, and the mid fight phase change gave me goosebumps with the music
Orochi in Okami. You spend the first entire third of the game building up to your first fight with him and by the time you’re fighting him, you have an incredible amount of context for how legendary your battle actually is.
Many of the boss battles in that game had amazing lead-up.
Anime jiggle physics, Dvorak’s 9th, and the moon
TGM4’s Master Rounds stage intro is really cool. After hitting Lv.2600 on the hardest stage you can find in modern Tetris, it rings the stage clear tune. But suddenly, it starts playing a different track. Your level starts rolling back, and so does your moves and the timer. The song intensifies while doing so. Everything stops when the timer comes back to 65 seconds. That’s right, you’re racing against your previous self to hit Lv. 2600 again.
READY?
GO!!
It’s a really hard accomplishment to the point only three people (technically four if we include the first Rounds play, but that method is not possible to do anymore) have managed to get a Rounds grade play so far, but I’d love to achieve it anyways. I’m nowhere near getting Rounds (my max was Lv.816), but I think I can slowly getting there. Maximum gravity already feels hard, but with frozen minos I can’t really afford making a mistake.
Final boss of Dark Souls
Tap for spoiler
I’d argue the entire game is the boss intro. And IIRC, the lore behind Gwyn is pretty deep too. You fight all these big baddies, and when you get to Gwyn, he’s relatively pretty weak.
I remember being very fascinated by all the dark souls lore and his was particularly interesting. I vaguely remember that after killing him, you have the choice of keeping the flame alive or leaving and breaking the cycle?
There was an interesting video I saw online that was saying the final boss’s theme is interesting because it’s a piano piece for two players. The boss’s theme in it is very static, and the other, presumably yours, is more dynamic. Fits with the hollowing static world
