Large, somewhat centrally planned economy decides to spend a decade investing in the economy, general advanced manufacturing process. Succeeded, and all their trading partners wound up undercut and viewing it as economic warfare. Me: facepalm.gif
So China is focusing on dominating manufacturing for EVs, solar panels, semiconductors, and commercial jets. I wonder how much fuel they’ve been dumping on the fire with regards to Boeing, Intel, the US anti-EV crowd, and the like. Seems very suddenly all of these areas are suffering greatly and getting a lot of negative publicity while China is motoring on ahead.
I wouldn’t attribute to malice (on the part of China) what can be attributed to stupidity (Boeing taking short term gains at the cost of their entire brand). Capitalism ruins everything eventually.
