I can’t understand people who believe international law has any legitimacy. If you are not willing to bomb another country to enforce the law, the law doesn’t exist.
the phrase “international law” only exists to delegitimize the regimes of the united states’ enemies because only the united states and it’s allies gets to decide who is breaking “international law” by controlling international organizations that were ostensibly setup to enforce “international law” like the un or the icc.
we’re witnessing it happen with the sanctions the united states has placed on icc & icj who tried to apply “international law” to netanyahu & gallant and again with gvir & smotrich.
in the next decade or so, you’re going to learn of another president claiming that another regime has broken “international law” so we must invade/bomb them for doing so and a huge majority of americans will agree because it’s “international law”.
Even when issued western countries will never arrest them
Check out the TrueAnon podcast, ep 480. They interview Jake Romm of the Hind Rajab Foundation, discussing the effort to push for local prosecution (abroad) of Israeli war criminals for violating international laws. They want to remove the need to rely on the ICC.

It didn’t show when i posted the article, that it already has been posted here. I think that is because @geneva_convenience@lemmy.ml is instance banned on my instance.
I am not sure what is the best way of dealing with these situations, since that means instance-bans fracture the possible audience. I will leave the decision to the mod team. @jordanlund@lemmy.world @Tenthrow@lemmy.world @little_cow@lemmy.world @lemmyAtom@lemmy.world
Generally, we don’t get involved unless someone reports a post. I can’t guarantee we’d remember the title on a 20 hour post compared to a 5 hour post, especially when similar but not identical titles get posted all the time. 😉
I don’t see any reports on this one.
