Bluepoint pitched a Bloodborne remake, but FromSoftware turned it down, not Sony
Now, a new report by Bloomberg claims that Bluepoint did, in fact, approach FromSoft in early 2025, pitching a remake of the 2015 game. It’s said that “the studio was told that the numbers made sense, but FromSoftware didn’t want it to happen”.
Interestingly, former president of Sony Interactive Entertainment Shuhei Yoshida posited the same this time last year, saying: "Bloodborne is one of the most popular asks on my Twitter/X. And the people wonder why we haven’t really done anything… it should be easy, right?
“Miyazaki-san really, really loved Bloodborne, what he created. So I think he is interested but he’s so successful and he’s so busy, so he cannot do it himself, and he doesn’t want anyone else to touch it.”

You can run ClamAV if you feel you need to, it’s fine. Install packages using your distro’s package manager. Don’t install random binaries or package repositories until you understand where the software is actually coming from. Job done.
I very badly want a good PC racing sim with a career progression mode and don’t particularly mind if it’s economy based. Of course it should have no effect on the cars/tracks available in any other modes. I’m interested to see what Kunos replaces it with but I’m not holding my breath.
Please don’t take the AMS2 path of 6 years with a greyed out career mode button on the main menu.

That kind of cognitive dissonance is what leads some people to give up ideologies like white supremacy. The endless rationalizing of hypocrisy is fucking exhausting. I don’t think I’ve been more surprised to see a game on a GDQ schedule than Richard Burns Rally. The 20 year old brutally difficult rally sim with a dedicated player base to this day. I can’t wait to see someone actually be good at it live!

For MGS I will always recommend Giant Bomb’s old Metal Gear Scanlon series going through all 5 main games, Peace Walker, and Rising.
2026 is a new regulations year for F1 so the cars are very different, racing rules are different, there’s even an 11th team joining the fray. Yearly sports game expansions instead of whole new games is the obvious choice but for F1 specifically, this seems like the worst possible year to switch?
Dude it’s a blast. When they came out I played through each Dishonored once slowly, methodically, and non-lethal. Then immediately started over and hauled ass just slaughtering anything that got in my way. Both ways are valid and so much fun!

It would be nice if more people gave a shit about in depth reporting on the industry but it’s an ever-shrinking niche. I think that’s a problem with any “enthusiast press” though. The game industry is huge and has asinine amounts of cash sloshing around in it though, so maybe we just end up with a bigger gulf between sites regurgitating press releases and sites actually doing reporting?

You don’t even need to do that. I download firmware updates from the LG website, throw it on a USB drive, and plug that into the TV. Actually important firmware updates are so rare that I’m fine with the extra effort required.
