Those proteins and RNAs are now the domain of deep learning, thankyouverymuch! Pull the plug!

Mine boots in 35s, according to systemd-analyze critical-chain
with 4 of those seconds attributed to me typing in my password.
I’m astounded anyone would leave their machine on overnight.
(At the same time, I’m quite happy to leave my phone in light sleep mode overnight with airplane mode on, so I clearly have some double-standards here)
Turn off your computer and make sure it powers down. Toss it in a 43-foot hole in the ground. Bury it completely rocks and boulders should be fine. Then burn any clothes you may have worn any time you were onliiiine
(You can deduct all if not a lot of the money you send to charity in your taxes. Everyone should donate the max amount, as the government practically covers it!)
Once you start getting real money, you start noticing how much is going to taxes.
Even though the net income is more money than you’ve ever seen in your life, and the meagre fraction that is going to welfare is abysmally small, yet was a true lifeline to you when you needed it mere weeks ago… it still makes your blood boil knowing you’re not getting everything you feel you deserve.
Imagine that amplified x 10, and you can see how a CEO might feel that they’re throwing tens of thousands a month on what they feel are undeserving recipients. All they see are the zeroes, not the percentage.
TL;DR - we all inhabit the same planet, but we live in different worlds.
In think we need a linuxcherrypop
community, so that I can filter past the “ive done it!! I left windows!” posts, or those questions like “what do you miss about other distros”.
I just want Linux news. Tell me about developments, and let me discuss them with people
Do you know what the chip of the PIR is? How many false positives do you get?
my awesome wm config has a lot of customization. We’re talking 5+ years of basically re-writing an entire theme, along with behaviours, widgets, and bindings.
esphome or custom?
I’ve resigned to just using the stock keyboard. It’s terrible, and always autocorrects my “The” to “Tue” for some reason, but I can live with it. Heliboard really was underwhelming, and AnySoft had some issues not showing a normal keyboard on certain inputs.
Yep, I’ve had to tearfully look away from better (and cheaper) handsets than the one I’m holding for the same reason. If it can’t be repurposed don’t buy it
Dang. Yeah, every time I look for a new smartphone I check to see what the Lineage and future PmOS support is like
Check the unofficial builds on XDA. My bet is that it exists. The unofficial builds are rock solid if you’re wondering. I have a 10 year old smartphone that runs Lineage18 flawlessly on an unofficial ROM
the longest street name in Germany is “Bischöflich-Geistlicher-Rat-Josef-Zinnbauer-Straße”, which I don’t think is that different from something like “St Martin-in-the-Fields Church Path” in the UK.
(I’m purposefully ignoring Wales, because they’re just fucking with us at this point)
Mob the user and tell them to use a different client, or co-opt their local elections by force and demand it.

Lftp is fast. Those parallel chunked downloads are not a joke
Your browser is likely Firefox (which I believe is heavily influenced by google’s demands on the web), and your phone OS is likely Android (open source, but influenced heavily by google devs) or iOS (in which case you have other problems). You can’t escape the reach of a giant by pretending you don’t see its footsteps
