2·6 days agoThey know, read their yearly financial reports. They said for a decade that Windows is not only not profitable, there’s no future for it. Microsoft for several years now is a company that sells cloud and opensource services(Linux, Github, etc).

There are already 2 languages in the kernel: C and Assembly(for example).

That already happened and Linus decided to accept Rust code into the kernel.

Didn’t the guy who decides on bringing new languages to the kernel(that’s not Christoph Hellwig) specifically said “do bring Rust to the kernel”? And bringing it to the drivers not core subsystems is exactly because C developers won’t need to maintain it?
It has everything to do with national security, they just don’t consider common people as part of their nation same as slaves weren’t.

Yeah, nothing important. Just your banking apps, personal documents, photos, government apps, emails, all the services linked to your phone via mobile number, personal chats, work chats, 2fa codes, some other not important stuff. But at least it doesn’t have your games. Unless you play games on your phone, then you are fucked.
