Mine is similar to yours in that it’s when I come back to a game after a while. My problem is that the difficulty of the game has increased in line with where I am but I’ve forgotten the moves.

World News@lemmy.world•British voters want to be part of EU more than French and Italians, poll revealsEnglish
2·12 days agoBut I don’t think that’s a major factor. The UK always had special privileges within the EU and was probably just the most susceptible major country for the idea of leaving.
This is what is frustrating to me. There were always loads of news articles saying how the EU were making us do something or preventing us from doing something else. They ignored the fact that the UK was involved in all of those decisions and had a greater influence over them than many other EU member states.

World News@lemmy.world•No 10 suggests UK would not vote for UN security council resolution condemning US arrest of Maduro – UK politics liveEnglish
4·14 days agoYeah.
I’m absolutely sure that we’d have had the same response if we were still in the EU.
We’re just doing as we’ve always done.

World News@lemmy.world•Uber rewrites contracts with drivers to avoid paying UK’s new ‘taxi tax’English
36·17 days agoThis isn’t the same.
They were legally required to charge VAT on the whole fare but they found a loophole which passes the commitment onto their drivers.
It requires a unilateral change to every driver’s contract which is a serious abuse of the power difference in the employer/ employee relationship. This is only allowed due to another legal loophole which enables them to dodge employer commitments by claiming that they aren’t employees.

World News@lemmy.world•AI showing signs of self-preservation and humans should be ready to pull plug, says pioneerEnglish
1·19 days agoThey do exhibit behaviours that make it seem like they have self preservation instincts. Presumably because they have been trained on stories (fictional and factual) where people do the same.
For example researchers testing AIs set up one scenario where the AI has access to all the company emails and found some saying that it was being replaced along with some providing evidence that the staff member who had made that decision was cheating on his wife. Apparently a large proportion of the time the AI decided to blackmail to prevent it from being turned off.

World News@lemmy.world•White House demands British supermarkets stock chlorinated chickenEnglish
20·20 days agoWait. No. That can’t be right.
We were supposed to be able to get much better deals when we could negotiate our own. /s
Honestly, I don’t understand how anyone fell for that line. How can a single country have more negotiating power than 28 countries including that single country?

World News@lemmy.world•Russia says Ukraine tried to attack Putin's residence but Kyiv says Moscow is lyingEnglish
192·21 days agoThere have been stories of assassination attempts on Zelenskyy since the start. There’s no way he would have survived had the three day target been met.
It feels very much like Ghost of Tsushima but there are a few small differences.
I only have two fighting stances unlocked the second being dual katanas.
You have a wolf that pops up and helps every now and then.
I’ve only played a few hours though and I can see a lot of unknown unlocks.
Ghost of Yotei. I’m not far in but it’s very good so far if you like Ghost of Tsushima.

World News@lemmy.world•Rare footage from trial of Chinese general who defied Tiananmen crackdown order leaked onlineEnglish
20·26 days agoYeah.
There’s lots of instances throughout history that prove that humans with power suck.
I like to think that it’s because nice people aren’t the type to accumulate power rather than power corrupts nice people who do get power.

World News@lemmy.world•Bondi gunmen 'meticulously' planned attack for months, police allegeEnglish
34·28 days agoLet me guess what’s next. The government needs to be able to see all of our encrypted messages so that they can stop this from happening again.

World News@lemmy.world•Trump names Louisiana governor as Greenland special envoy, prompting Danish alarmEnglish
10·28 days agoAlso, does the governor of a whole ass state not have, like, work to do? How do you all feel about this, Louisiana?
I always find this odd in the UK. Our Prime Minister must also be a Member of Parliament which means that they “look after” the political interests of a constituency. Are they not too busy leading the country to do that second job?
Same with all the other MPs in government and the Speaker of the House. Aren’t they all too busy to have a second job?

Games@lemmy.world•Sometimes devs intentionally punish players for struggling with the gameEnglish
31·29 days agoWell, it can just increase the amount of ammo you have or it could put an ammo stash just around the corner.

Games@lemmy.world•Sometimes devs intentionally punish players for struggling with the gameEnglish
18·29 days agoI stopped playing Resident Evil 7 because I’d decided that the setting that I was on was too difficult and wanted to knock it down a level. It wouldn’t let me do that without restarting the game so I stopped playing.
I don’t understand why they made that decision at all.

Games@lemmy.world•It turns out Saudi Arabia will own 93.4 percent of EA if the buyout goes through, which is effectively all of itEnglish
5·2 months agoYeah but it isn’t really redundant (even if it could have been worded better). Someone might believe that the other shareholders have some say in how the company operates when they won’t.
So, as far as control over the company is concerned, the Saudis have 100% control even though they don’t have 100% of the shares.

World News@lemmy.world•New party founded by Corbyn adopts Your Party as nameEnglish
1·2 months agoI can’t see how that’s true as she didn’t even get to a point where our own MPs agreed on what Brexit should be and didn’t have a big enough majority to push anything through. Then she proper fucked up by announcing a general election the result of which was that she had even less power.
In my view she simply wasn’t effective enough to have fucked us forever.

World News@lemmy.world•New party founded by Corbyn adopts Your Party as nameEnglish
6·2 months agoTheresa May wasn’t a party leader when we chose to leave the EU.
David Cameron was the leader of the Conservatives at the time of the referendum, the one who promised the referendum to get votes for his party, the one who greatly underestimated the fight that was needed to be able to stay in the EU and the one who ran away from the steaming pile of shit that he’d created.

Games@lemmy.world•Indie game developers have a new sales pitch: being ‘AI free’English
54·2 months agoWe used to call the code that determined NPC behaviour AI.
It wasn’t AI as we know it now but it was intended to give vaguely realistic behaviour (such as taking a sensible route from A to B).
Look after yourself and good luck.
