Imagine a PC with a locked bootloader.

Imagine having to purchase a new PC to simply be able to get updates. Or be locked to windows for life and not have an option to install Linux, BSD, whatever else.

There is zero reason to restrict installing a new os or firmware on a phone except planned obsolescence

Mint xfce runs perfectly for me with the integrated Intel graphics on a sff dell from 2011.

Xfce is also much more customizable in appearance than just about any other DE.

It was and never will be about how much it cost or lost.

Edit: added a couple things to enable it on desktop (Linux)

Go to: about:config

Set
browser.ml.enable true
browser.ml.chat.enabled true
browser.ml.chat.hideLocalhost false

Then go to: about:inference

You can set the endpoint to your localhost or any server.

Open sidebar and select AI chatbot. Select localhost option and follow prompts

One VPN I use has servers in most us states.

Auto connected to a mandatory ID state and a porn site demanded I take a picture of my id.
