Most people don’t know the difference, as made clear by the reactions of the public, comments on other social platforms, and the wording of the articles. So it’s just as powerful as it was.

No backend database needed for what they did. It was just highlighting where the faces are in a shot of the crowd, same as modern smsttphone cameras do, but with a surveillance-type UI around it.

I have both Epic and GOG copies from two different free offers and played it a bunch, but could never finish it. If you don’t know the language then you shouldn’t be involved in the translation at all… The current process requires both the translators and the proof-readers to know the language.

Unless the process has changed in the last decade, article translations are a multi-step process, which includes translators and proof-readers. It’s easier to get volunteer proof-readers than volunteer translators. Adding AI for the translation step, but keeping the proof-reading step should be a great help.

But you could probably also have used Google translate and then just fine tune the output yourself. Anyone could have done that at any point in the last 10 years.

Have you ever used Google translate? Putting an entire Wikipedia article through it and then “fine tuning” it would be more work than translating it from scratch. Absolutely no comparison between Google translate and AI translations.

If only ASCII art was available, then Windows 95 itself wouldn’t have been possible, being a graphical OS. Games in the 70s and 80s had non-ascii graphics.

I’ve played hundreds of games before Windows 95 came out and I’ve never actually played an ASCII art game. Not even text adventures that I’ve played used ASCII art.

I never owned a 486 either. My first upgrade after the 286 was a Pentium.

It’s not about the screenshots, I’m just amazed with how you’re playing a different game every day. I can’t put down a game until I 100% it.

I don’t get how people do this. I obsessively play a single game until I exhaust everything possible to do in that game. Only then I move on to the next game. In 243 days I would probably have screenshots of 2 games total.

I ignore any calls that are not from my contacts. If it’s important they’ll leave a message. I have DND on at night. Calls and messages from my wife have separate sounds and exception from DND.

Same. I grab most of the free games every week, but for actual purchases I still use Steam. If I’m going to spend money on a game then it has to count achievements on my Steam profile.
