The hardware switch looks promising. Are there any decent ones for under $50 out there or are they usually a big investment?

I’m thinking use it to host a Minecraft or matrix server. I’m not expierenced with networking so nothing super advanced.
Might change if you get a VPN and change servers. I’m assuming that the suggested accounts are based on location.
I completely forgot about repositories in F-Droid. This is very helpful, thank you.
I’m curious, why do you use that over a VPN?
Same. Seems like YouTube is back on their anti VPN and frontend spree which will inevitability have a workaround and then they’ll be at it again. It’s cyclical at this point.
I’ll look into it. Thanks.
Edit: it’s not on f-droid :/
Wait, what? How does that work?
You don’t actually have to have a beefy computer to self host. I know with deepseek there’s a 1.5b model which is optimized for low end hardware. I self hosted it on a desktop from 2012 and it worked alright. 8gb RAM, i5 processer, quad core. Was the GPU usage high? Yep. Still worked tho.
I’m not a programmer or coder and I’ve been using Linux for about a year. It’s been really user friendly after I figured out what distros are and which one to choose. I highly recommend Linux Mint Debian Edition. It’s worked quite well for me and was not a huge jump from windows because the user interface is similar. All you need to install it is a thumb drive.
I like playing games on steam and haven’t had any issues. There’s this really cool website called protondb where you can search steam game compatibility with Linux. For the few that aren’t compatible, oftentimes people share fixes which usually consists of copy pasting stuff on there.
LMDE is rock solid. I’ve been using it for a while and It Just Works.
Do you know if there’s a difference in the frequency of releases of the f-droid version and the play store version?
I’m in the US. I wonder if there’s any drawback to using an Australian provider. Like, will it get flagged or something?
I don’t get why they don’t just make it a paid service entirely. Seems odd that email providers like to do that.
Do they compare similarly in regards to privacy?
Care to elaborate?
I’ve been using a wired Nintendo pro switch controller on LMDE and have had no issues with it.
You can get a used thinkpad T480 off eBay for ~$150. I’ve dropped it multiple times and spilled orange juice on it and it works perfectly fine. No issues running Linux mint Debian edition. Main drawback is the fan which isn’t the most efficient at cooling, but it is upgradeable.
Assuming this email is legit, the best thing that you can do is change as many of your passwords as possible to be unique and complex. You may also want to consider deleting old email addresses and getting new ones. Alternatively you can separate your emails addresses by having one for signing up for spammy services, one for personal stuff, one for work/school, etc. Try not to have much overlap between them all.
Edit: I also highly recommended using a temporary email for signing up for stuff whenever possible. I always use this one , but there are plenty of others too.
Do I need to have elevated network permissions to do that? I don’t have admin access on my WiFi network and it is shared with a lot of people.
