Linux@programming.dev•Yay, let's build my new Linux-powered PC! – Journey to EndeavourOS #2English
2·5 months agoI’ll definitely give Winboat a try, since I need to get MP3tag and Clip Studio Paint working at some point. I’ll also install Cooler Control, just in case. Thank you so much for the help!

2·5 months agoThank you! I ended up adding more fans after the build was done, so I think I fixed whatever issues I was having. I’ll definitely try those two programs tho, as Wine still refuses to work…

2·5 months agoThank you! EndeavourOS seems very friendly in general, and I’m really enjoying it so far. It also seems to lack the usual dose of Arch elitists, which is even better.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Turn your dumb terminal into a workstation today, with X Window System! – GUI WonderlandEnglish
1·6 months agoThank you! I’ll definitely have a look at those, perhaps they’ll give me some inspiration for my new Endeavour OS installation.
I’ll definitely keep on writing this, as I’d like to hopefully reach Windows Vista (and its fascinating beta, Longhorn), and maybe even 8, we’ll see. It will take a while, but I’ll get there!

Technology@lemmy.ml•Turn your dumb terminal into a workstation today, with X Window System! – GUI WonderlandEnglish
2·6 months agoThank you! You’re right, I’m too young to have been there at the time, but I’m deeply fascinated by these things, and would like to share them with a new audience as well! It’s always amazing to read comments written by people who were there at the time, and see new perspectives!
I managed to obtain an SGI Indy, but I haven’t done much with it yet, I’ll have to research it a bit more. As for Enlightenment, that will be for a future Episode about the rest of X Window System, there were simply too many to include in this one.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Games@lemmy.world•Close the loop. Hack into God. – Anonymous;Code ReviewEnglish
2·7 months agoIt depends on how much detail you want to understand. You can play Steins;Gate and Robotics;Notes on their own, but they are best understood after playing Chaos;Head (personally, I played C;H after them). Chaos;Child necessarily follows Chaos;Head. For Occultic;Nine, you can read it with no prior knowledge, as far as I’ve seen. For Anonymous;Code, you need Steins;Gate at the bare minimum, and at least a decent summary of Chaos;Head’s themes. Anything more is just added references that you’ll be able to get.
Don’t feel threatened and jump in!

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•I Hope that Fantasy Gives us Strength – Metaphor ReFantazio Review & AnalysisEnglish
1·9 months agoUnfortunately, that’s what many people think… They let go of imagination and fantasy just because they grow older, or because everyone tells them it’s the right thing to do. Luckily, not everyone does that, especially because, as you said, there are many stories that help us, teach us something, or are simply enjoyable, and we should not ignore them just because they aren’t objectively real; they can still be real in our hearts, and that will never change.
Personally, this story reminded me of my childhood struggles and my hopes for a better future; I shall not say more because of spoilers, but fiction can be powerful indeed, and can truly give you strength!

Personally, that was a bit I enjoyed, but it’s also true that I played the updated version, so maybe that was part of it.
