The user was referred to as “he” in the all the documentation. Random made up example “if the user wants to change his settings he will click this button in the top left” or whatever.
A very normal PR was raised that just changed these uses to be gender neutral and it was declined for being too political.

13·9 天前Apparently it crashes a bunch, doesn’t boot at all, poorly optimised. So basically its slightly worse than the average AAA game in the modern era.

- I definitely saw a lot of people from ml who were saying stuff like that when trump started talking to Israel in the first week or so of his presidency. They’re not representative of all of .ml, but they were quite a vocal minority

2·15 天前Oh, for sure. It depends what you need it for. A lot of people just want a pi for something like a pihole or a stats dashboard of some kind (that’s my use case, anyway). You get what you pay for and sometimes you’ve gotta pay for what you wanna get.
Not super familiar with the gpio side of things, and I also haven’t dug that deep into the space lately since I already own my rpi and it works for me so take all this with a pinch of salt, but I found some options that seem reasonable
- Libre Computer Le Potato
- Orange Pi Zero 2
- Radxa Zero
- NanoPi R2S
- Banana Pi M2 Zero
Yeah, my pi sips energy very sparingly. Even an old laptop is going to be drawing more just to power itself, never mind what I run on it.
That said, pis are a poor value proposition nowadays and there are better options for the same use case

Yeah but you have no control over how other people spend their money. That second hand phone would still be there whether you buy it or not. But if you buy a new one you’re giving google more money.
Ideally there would be no second hand google phones because nobody would buy them new, but that’s not happening

Its impossible to know everything perfectly, but you can know some things to some degree and take action based on what you do know. Some will choose to not bother, and that is their decision to make, but it is a decision.
