I have a relatively easy and nice setup on PopOS currently and I don’t want you switch just because I don’t want to lose my files and setup.
Is there a process you recommend to transfer UI, etc. to another distro as an experiment? I know how to transfer my video files, for example, just don’t know how or if other programs can transfer easily between distros.

I have a slightly different issue where I have several VeraCrypt vaults on an external that seem corrupted and don’t recognize the correct passwords anymore. I’m making note of your advice to work on mine too. Is there anything particularly different you would recommend?

I’m on Linux, actually. I installed Steam with great reluctance because everything else I’m running is privacy-friendly FOSS stuff but one of my best friends wanted to play something and there was no other way. As it always happens, we ended up never playing together and I just did stuff on my own, so I should probably just uninstall it at this point.

I think it’s understandable to remove them in the desire to not allow that kind of discussion in a given place, like this instance.
As a general user, it’s just difficult to parse through afterwards, I feel like an historian trying to piece together an ancient argument with only one side of it. I feel like leaving them up a bit longer until the argument is dead is good, but only because I like to read through it as content or jump in at times. Taking the comments down immediately kills it. I usually check the modlog and piece it together but in this case something was missing for some reason.
In terms of moderation, and I’ve never been a mod, I think the current way of doing things is best though.
