I get your hate, but there would be significant turmoil in the world if the largest and most advanced GPU provider disappeared. So you’re sorta lying.
Scientific advances would slow and engineering tasks would also suffer from the lack of capability to run simulations. Eventually, AMD and Intel would pick up the slack and the world would start doing well again.

All my bank apps work, I have the stock pixel camera app and it works perfectly

I thought you were being facetious and joking lol
“I’d totally switch to Linux if I could install spyware into my kernel”

I mean the recovery images for the deck have been available and I’m pretty sure you can just install that on any x86 system.
I’ve used fedora for the past 5 years and run GrapheneOS. I’m familiar with open software dude
This is a custom small form factor PC with many of its components being user replaceable. The GPU and CPU are soldered, which is unfortunate, but it is still significantly more upgradable and repairable than any other console that has existed. So what the hell are you on about?
And Valve already has a partnership with iFixit to offer replacement parts for their handheld gaming device, the Steam Deck, and they intended to continue that partnership with their new hardware products.
I think you’re just dumb and don’t know what you’re talking about.

Valve engineers told GamersNexus that it should be priced no more than the index, but they did not specify which kit or package of the index. So yeah, anywhere from 700 to 900 dollars probably.

In their announcement video, they specifically called out that you can install whatever software you want and showed somebody working on CAD. So, yeah, definitely.

"Furthermore, Takaichi’s elevation to power was a highly anti-democratic process. The broad population had no say in her election as LDP president nor in electing her to be prime minister. She was selected by the highest levels of the state as the bourgeois parties hashed out behind the scenes who would become prime minister. "

All my banking apps and credit card apps have worked flawlessly on Graphene OS. You’re correct that tap to pay doesn’t work, which is a bummer. But that is just Google spyware as well, honestly.
I heard about this a while ago, but I remember the GrapheneOS team talking about suing Google if they didn’t allow them to pass play integrity checks like they should be able to, but Google just doesn’t let them. That’s the only reason tap to pay doesn’t work and some baking apps have issues, its Google purposefully limiting graphene OS so they have a competitive edge somewhere.
I used zorin when I first switched like 5 years ago, ended up on fedora not too soon after and haven’t left. It was a good stepping stone for me though.

I disagree with main post and agree with edit. I’ve only seen abuse material on Lemmy once and it was on an instance that didn’t have an automated moderation tool for image uploads and they promptly added that mitigation step after it happened

Social media is pretty unhealthy, honestly. Especially when used excessively, no matter if it’s for profit or not.

It’s very stupid to install a rootkit spyware on your computer to play a video game. Now that spyware is owned by the Saudi government too. Assuming you play on PC.

Religion is easily one of the most horrendous and harmful inventions humans have ever created. It’s devastating that children are indoctrinated into moronic religions before they develop any kind of critical thinking skills.
Child abuse tbh

What is NAMBLA, dont care to google with your following comment.

I sorta dig Frame™

Hey, man, I’m right there with you. I’m not planning on buying a new car unless I’m 100% confident I can disable or remove all of its networking and spyware services. I’m just stating that it’s stupid that the average American will buy a new car and then say this shit about these cars just because they’re Chinese.
Honestly a Chinese car spying on you probably has less negative impact on your life vs any other brand that does business with American companies, of course assuming you yourself are american and live in America.
They said they aren’t going to announce the price until closer to launch, so just chill. They only announced the product so they could get developers working on game support early.
