It deserves all the praise it has received. What an incredible game.

I just connect with Bluetooth like normal, and then in steam you can tell it to treat it like whatever type of controller layout you want: switch, xbox, playstation, etc.

I’ve been using these for years, including with my docked steam deck, and they already work great.

I’m not a judge, but isn’t internet essentially a utility these days? Cutting someone off because of piracy seems like cutting off electricity or water because they did something illegal with it.

The moment I see myself in an ad, I’m giving up on technology and joining the Amish.

It’s way more fun to make up your own build as you go, based on how you want to play anyway. Just be warned that the upgrade materials are really stingy after a certain point, so be a little selective with how many weapons you commit to.

I love reading people’s first time experience with these games.

Demon’s Souls was the last of the Souls games I played, and I thought it was hard still. The bosses aren’t as frenetic and complex as later titles, but the levels and the navigation is brutal. I still remember running back in that swamp over and over and over.

I also remember grinding out weapon upgrade materials in a cave for literal hours, because I didn’t see any other way to get enough.

Is any other app out there able to handle streaming games to your friends as easily as discord?

It seems like we should probably be looking for the next ship to jump to…

I loved the demo and would also highly recommend the game solely based on that.

I’ve seen a lot of people praising Mint in here. It sounds like that’s the distro for me to try first.

I played the demo for this game, and it’s a really creative concept. It feels like one of those tile-laying board games crossed with an indie mystery title.

The puzzles go deeper than you’d think too. By the end of the demo, my wife and I were trading off playing and taking down notes, while our 2 y/o was excitedly shouting out doors for us to go through next. It was a good time.

Do you worry about connecting it to the internet?

I installed Linux on a raspberry pi recently (first time using Linux in 15+ years), and in addition to reading stuff on Lemmy, I found that this is a really good use case for chatgpt or similar LLMs.

I was able to get chatgpt to explain stuff to me, ask it to dumb it down further, provide examples, correct my incorrect assumptions, etc.

If they are ready by then, it would be perfect timing to grab a TON of users.

Moonlight is still alive? I used to use it constantly and was really disappointed when support for it discontinued.

People were predicting this a while back as a way that reddit would make themselves more “advertiser-friendly”.

I think you’re absolutely right. When these studios go public and start having pressure from shareholders, it starts the gradual decline in quality.

Goodwill with your playerbase doesn’t show up on a quarterly report, but without it your company is sunk.

It’s incredible that a company with the resources of Ubisoft couldn’t figure that out, even with people shouting it at them daily.

This makes me feel like there will be a large group of retro gamers who will prefer the artisan, human-made games of the past, but ultimately a younger gen audience that won’t know the difference or care.
