  • Copilot when enmeshed in a full M365 enterprise environment is useful. Some higher up asked me for an update on everyone’s progress on their tasks (no one updates the DevOps board). I open the meeting event and then ask copilot for an update. Since the meeting was recorded and transcribed, it gave me an accurate summary which I copy pasted to the higher up.

Why couldnt the higher up just ask copilot themselves? Corporate organization!!! This and similar are good use cases for copilot.

As a standalone LLM, it’s kind of fun but it’s garbage. Just like ChatGPT. Not reliable, quotes sources but half the time it says the opposite of what the source actually states, completely useless for any task that requires precision or analysis.

It convinces the higher ups that it’s good though. And this is because higher ups are mostly completely technology-illiterate. Most people are tech illiterate too.

  • Fun aside but I went into one of these heavily moderated adult communities on Meta and I was using a headset that was enterprise controlled so it had no personal meta account attached which meant I didn’t have an avatar.

When I showed up I appeared as a featureless grey avatar. I made a lot of friends until the moderator with a heavy southern US accent called me a hacker (because I was grey and featureless) and started genuinely freaking out and yelling.

A whole crowd gathered around me and some people were saying that I was a government agent (lol) and another suggested I was Russian. Anyways, they banned me for 7 days which sucked.

I went through a VR witch hunt because I was GREY.

  • I think it’s irresponsible of the Verge to tout an electric motorcycle’s range as “up to 600km”. It’s absolute fantasy.

I have an electric dirtbike and a gas bike. My gas bike has an 11.1 L tank and can go about 360km per tank.

The highest actual range I’ve seen on an electric motorcycle is about 100km of mixed use (highway and city).

Solid state batteries have the potential capability of having almost double the power density as lithium ion. So approx 200-300km (maybe).

Pretty solid but doubling THAT is just dishonest and in no way going to happen. You’re claiming to have more power density than internal combustion. That’s just straight up dishonest.

You do a massive disservice to the overwhelming majority of computer users.

To everyone else: if you want a computer that just works and don’t want to fuck around with the command line, Bazzite is perfect. It should be recommended over Linux Mint.
