This is such a fantastic and prescient book.

Upvote just for sharing the same twisted path as me.
In maybe the most important race of this country’s history, Harris couldn’t bring herself to denounce genocide and war crimes like a decent human being and instead chose to support a corrupt, fascist foreign nation that more closely resembles Nazi Germany than another country today.
Party loyalists tut-tut at the voters and learn exactly nothing, yet again.
Instead of four hours, this could have taken half an hour by properly exploring the problem and mapping out a solution first. Everyone seems to shit on drawing up an architecture first and wants to immediately start coding, but taking a little time up front to think through the problem pays huge dividends in the long run.
Looks like Israel just got an excuse to shift the blame to Trump, as if they haven’t been the ones behaving exactly like Nazis for so long now.
It says right in the summary that it’s 0.2% of the GDP, which shouldn’t impact other services greatly. There’s no need to turn into a dog-eat-dog style war machine to counter realistic foreign threats.
I like NATO as an alliance of countries looking after each other, but no such alliance should fall apart if any one member falls short and I’ve never been thrilled with the US role of world police. Europe needs to be able to defend itself on its own and stepping up their own contribution to NATO (and their own defense capabilities) is a good thing.
Many people are rehashing it in defense, because these posts always start with assigning blame for not voting in Harris.
It would be great if the Democratic Party started running a more popular platform and won the election by something other than begrudging lesser-of-two-evils votes. Obama’s first term showed how powerful that could be.
Hopefully the Democratic Party has learned that bringing a status-quo to a populist fight isn’t a good idea, but I’m not holding my breath on that anymore.
Wall Street has never had a problem with Nazis
Good thing the Democrats decided that appeasing a foreign government was more important than representing their own citizenry and winning the election. Their part in this whole thing was entirely their own choice.
I’ve been happy with Fastmail.
The cost isn’t too bad at $5/mo per user.
The wildcard email thing is cool. You can use addresses like whatever@user.domain.tld to hand out to companies on the fly.
I may go back to hosting my own, but I have no complaints with Fastmail at all.
