  • Yeah, they chose El Salvador because they’ve literally abolished due process. It’s like Cambodia again - someone accuses you and you’re just instantly taken away. You MIGHT get to see a judge after you’re imprisoned for a month or two, likely after you’ve been beaten half to death so you’ll confess to anything just to make the pain stop. It’s a dressed up version of Duterte’s Philippines - we’ll kidnap you and let you die, rather than just some death squad rolling up to your door (because that doesn’t play well to the media and the other can be dressed up as “law and order”).

  • Pretty much this. The US will now end up with an automotive ecosystem (including fun things like ambulances, firetrucks, buses, etc) where everything is built as cheaply and dangerously as possibly profitable (see: Pinto et al). Sure, the autos we build here aren’t going to be able to be sold anywhere with a functioning regulatory body, but that’s OK because we managed to save $20 on each car we build by not having to include pesky things like airbags or a steering column that won’t impale you in a crash or a body that won’t telescope into you and crush you.

  • Anthem and Andromeda were actually pretty good as bases to work off of. I truly believe Anthem could’ve succeeded in the stated mission of “Destiny Killer” if they had put work into making it good, building it into a good instanced MMO. Same with Andromeda - actually pretty good game that just had a rough start, and could’ve been great if the studio had put time and effort into DLC.

But the metric is never “how many people are actually saying this is a good game and they enjoy it”, it’s “did this literally smash every other game out there on release.”
