But it is really a wise decision not taking countermeasures and sweet-talking to a bully once he slaps you? What do you think this attitude signals to the said bully?

That’s true, they are subsidizing your country. The problem at hand is that they are also destroying your industry, which is very bad in long term. When others industry is gone , they have a monopoly. The same supplies applies to car industry, specifically EVs.
AFAIK not. They “wanted” to, but then paused them all together, while orange retained initial ones. 🤷♂️
For starters implement reciprocal tariffs. Which we only virtually did only to pause them to not anger the orange. Next, don’t visit the orange nor start talking with him. It’s like China says, he should start conversation.
I wish EU was capable of similar attitude as China instead of digging our hole by trying to appease the Orange liar in chief no matter what.
There are no not-evil countries. That said, China is lesser evil, way nowmore stable and predictable of the two if handled properly.
But still, China is going full power on renewables, eventually they will pull ahead there as well, unless west or others start investing in renewables seriously.
Indeed that paints a different picture as suggested.
It still could be a mistake in the long term, though. Imagine the wise US administration slapping 1,220,332% tariffs on Taiwan? Or China wreaking havoc there. I still think Intel could fare well with better leadership handling their fabs.
AMD did that, but Global Foundry doesn’t do that well, at least compared to TSMC. Also Intel was going strong with their fabs until AMD started building better chips architecture wise. I’m just saying that splitting might not work.
Data should be per capita or another relative measure.
I bet on Trump to ruin world industry and thus eliminate a lot of co2 emissions.

EU joins the chat
Didn’t they already do that only to unfreeze them for support on passing some pro Ukraine resolution it or smth?
“Nobody said it could be done in 12 hours” - Rubio 🤦♂️
Yeah, not really. If you look at CPUs, there is no equivalent to modern CPUs in China, they all lag many years behind and taiwanese production line is restricted to them. Eventually China might catch up and surpasse US, but not in the near future as it takes enormous resources including time.
CPUs, GPUs and other integrated circuits? Made in Taiwan mostly, but still.
Seriously, does it even matter at this point? Even if there was 150% clear evidence, nothing would happen because Israel is “merely defending themselves”.
That’s certainly a fair point. However, being 100% dependent on an external monopoly is strategically and mid-term problematic. Once they acquire a monopoly status, they can raise prices, stop innovating and have a leverage on you - classic monopoly cons.
