*or one of Israel’s hired foreign militia

Yeah they worked within like 5m, less with walls. Tbh a fob with a loud buzzer was more effective

I’ve found smaller, cheaper alternatives by TrackR and Findr, but a promising yet expensive alternative is Chipolo - supports Apple Find My, Google Find My Device, and Chipolo companion app, however the tracking data is supposedly E2EE

What annoys me is that there were thin (~2mm) sticker-type Bluetooth tags about 15 years ago and cost a hell of a lot less (£10 for 3) than fucking AirtagsTile. No battery, just a passive coil that could be found with Bluetooth signal and an app that shows how close it is. Only I can’t find anything on them, so it’s little more than a conspiracy

I don’t recognise the state law as a righteous law anyway - there are more important laws than the opinionated statements of a few hundred aging or dead men. State law might govern the low-income population but it does not govern or define fact or reality, as reality is irrefutable and empirical.
By labeling Palestine Action as a terrorist group, without delving into the broadness of their own definition, the government imply to the public that the group is cruel or manipulates using terror, which is false as PA do not participate in cruelty.

“Content filtering” is just corporate jargon for subjective censorship, dynamically and discriminately restricting access to knowledge. I abhor all censorship.

And said data will never be used for fake CSAM or a library for the powerful to handpick their next victims

Fatal police shootings in the UK are getting more common. In 2019 one man was “lawfully murdered” because an officer said the victim’s mobile phone looked like a handgun. In 2024 it was announced the officer would not be prosecuted. Not one police officer has been found guilty of illegal murder as of yet.

In the UK the term is defined by the government as anyone who is deemed by the government a threat to the government or the people or someone’s property or the predominant local religion. But recently it’s been exclusively used for the first one. In this country state law is valued higher than corporate, moral, ethical and religious laws, so YMMV

You can follow uploaders, but since the mass removal of 85% of their videos I doubt the website has ever gotten better. I had a few favourites noted down but none of them exist now.

Yeah, it seems that everything has an imperfection, unfortunately. Just gotta choose one. I’d jump on Signal if they remove the phone number, but like you I think it’s the shiniest of the bunch. I just want media with captions, uncompressed uploads, the ability to search messages, full e2ee for calls and messages, the ability to conference call, secure message migration/sync to a new client, emoji/rich text and markdown format support, by a company that promises not to access its users’ messages, location or other identifying information.

How far they have fallen… Which would you recommend, sans self-hosting a service? Signal?

Telegram allegedly complied with a government to give them user data, and their e2e encryption was switched to be off by default. I know because when I started the chat with someone we raved about how it says ‘end to end encrypted’ before sending a message. Well, between then and when I decided to migrate off it, that private one-to-one chat’s encryption was switched off.
I say it’s okay, but only ensure that e2ee is on

I can’t believe anyone would think that clickbait is something people want. There is no purpose to it here - no affiliate monetary gain, no cash for clicks - just a Youtube video. Note that my quarrel is with the video uploader, not OP

I’ve seen a documentary describing in detail the construction of the shelter, as well as a recent video by B1M talking about the damage caused by the drone, and this one. I believe you’re talking about this discussion of the damage by Kyiv Independent?

Ashton fucking Kutcher, huh. Wild timeline.
Well, if this isn’t a sign to get off those VPNs in favour of Mullvad, I don’t know what is. They’re clearly big enough corporations to be targeted - time will tell if they’re gonna fold like one
