I understand that running services costs money, and I’ve heard nothing but good things about Kagi. Can anyone here convince me it’s worth the price?

Oh that’s great to know!

Also, the one feature I’ve come across (long press a link for a preview) is actually pretty useful sometimes. I’m actually impressed they discovered a use for generative AI that isn’t annoying and stupid.

Me personally I don’t have a Pixel but I looked into Graphene and I’m told banking apps don’t work and also tap to pay.
Linux works on pretty much every PC ever and every app can be installed. It would be nice to have that for phones!

End-to-end encrypted messaging protects against eavesdroppers in transit.
But if the ENDS are both compromised… I wish there were more/better custom ROMS out there. Hopefully Linux Phone gets some love.

Oh man, I suspected that was artificial! 😡

I’m wondering if you have the “cookie notices” and “annoyances” filters disabled? They are not checked by default. It’s under settings > filter lists. FWIW the page loaded cleanly for me.

Nobody is stopping you

If they are coming from Windows: Kinoite
If they are coming from Macintosh: Silverblue

This is the right answer OP!

Framework, but their laptops are also about twice as expensive as equivalent models from other brands.
Eh, I just ran some comparisons and Framework is only about $100 more than the cheapest equivalent in another brand with the same CPU/Memory. $200 more with Windows.

From their website:
Computers, notebooks, PCs and laptops from TUXEDO Computers are not mass-produced or off-the-shelf. Each device is individually assembled, installed, configured and tested for you.

I’ve been impressed with F-Droid’s press releases. If they have a snowball’s chance in hell of stopping this, they are certainly giving it a clear and concise effort.

I don’t have time today

Sometimes yes in my experience, but mostly it works fine. I suspect it’s a game of whack-a-mole with VPN companies constantly rotating IPs.

When will F-Droid stop working on stock android?

Compared to Windows. To be clear I’m just basing that on vibes, and I haven’t done any 1:1 testing, but it’s absolutely not any worse than Windows with everything I’ve tried. But also, even if it was slightly worse, the benefit of almost never needing a mouse/keyboard still would make it worth it.
Eh, not really. I don’t use google and I block trackers anyway.
