  • This could be complete bullshit because im not an expert but i sometimes think that we could have a future where without testing and nurturing peoples critical thinking skills we end up with people who dont know how to create a rational argument or assess information they are given for its accuracy and authenticity, or to know when they are being deceived by malicious actors.

English writing assignments as simple as a book report require you to take different views and angles on something to understand it better and the nuances of the whole, but tell a LLM to write it for you and you are not developing that part of your own mind where you may learn to do things like see the whole story above the individual events noise, see things from others perspective/feelings and understand alternate world views. These are critical for having empathy for others and understanding the world around you.
And that is just one small example i came up with.

  • I dont know the actual justification behind it but i would say:

    1. The Liberal party here love protecting business interests and giving pretrochem companies huge incentives, tax breaks, etc to take our resources and they probably get hard for how much more fuel they can sell here.
    2. Australia has inexplicably bad fuel standards, as such car manufacturers dump their shittest engines here which run on this low grade fuel and every time we talk about reforming this the manufacturors run a scare campaign about how much extra cars will cost if they have to meet these standards and the Libs have been jumping on that.

As to the big cars thing, we have typically had quite regular sized cars and our typical tradesperson vehicles (called “Ute’s” here, “trucks” in the USA) were significatly smaller than their american equivilants, but local manufacturing shut down and now we buy from whats available on the market. Also the laws around taxing work vehicles is worded in such a way that bigger cars get taxed differently and incentivises people buying these cars and slowly our car sizes are increasing and more and more giant ‘Yank Tanks’ are appearing on our roads. And couple this with car manufacturers slowly changing the publics idea of what a ‘family car’ is from a large sedan to a small suv to a full blown suv or 4x4 7 person tank.

  • I agree with the oyher comment to jusk the locals in whatever city or town you are in and there will be a really nice beach literally everywhere you go.
We are extremely lucky to have beautiful soft white sand beaches, and chances are you will have a large section to yourself as we have a small population which is clustered around capitol cities, the only exception being is that the nice beaches in capitol cities can be popular in summer. Dont even think about places like Bondi, seeing that on TV shows gives me anxiety. There are beaches near me in WA that have sand so fine that it literally queaks as you walk, it can be weirdly satisfying.

  • Sometimes you come across a video and you are like ‘oh this. I need more of THIS.’
And then you start tailoring searches to try find more of the same but you keep getting generic or repeated results because the lack of well described/defined content overuse of video TAGs (obviously to try get more views with a large net rather than being specific).
But would i watch AI content if i could feed it a description of what i want? Hell yeah!

I mean there are only so many videos of girls giving a blowjob while he eats tacos and watches old Black & White documentaries about the advancements of mechanical production processes.
