201·12 days agoI wouldn’t get my hopes up, this is still an isolated local case. Though it should be mentioned that they also lost a couple percent in the communal elections in the west two weeks ago.
Meanwhile the ruling coalition is doing everything in their power to be as incompetent and corrupt as possible to ensure more votes for the AfD in the next federal election.

48·12 days agoIt is, this is the far east of Germany where the AfD is usually much stronger. They lost 8% compared to the parliamentary election earlier this year.
TIL, I had no idea there were separate services.

91·28 days agoMankind Divided was the best Deus Ex since the original tbh. Such a shame that we’ll never get a sequel.

1·28 days agoMaxing out the meele skill and just beating enemies over the head with the baton was so overpowered and fun. The ragdolls and sound effects never get old. The only thing weighting the game down is the limited level design IMO, something a possible remaster could easily fix.

8·29 days agoI recently replayed IW and the overall looks just seem so much more… coherent? I guess? It’s hard to describe but in comparison the Remaster looks like it’s assets from different games merged into one.

These are the recommended system requirements. Not sure what they are doing behind the scenes but they are absolutely ridiculous for a game of this scope.

10·29 days agoThe management of the Deus Ex franchise has been bungled and set up for failure so many times. But this is definitely the most egregious one yet.

29·29 days agoThat may be true but it’s really not worth the effort if it comes with the loss of the original aesthetics and art direction IMO.
Man, I’m always glad if the Deus Ex franchise gets some attention but this really doesn’t convince me at all. It just looks like one of those bad HD mods many games had in the early 2010s and it totally kills the aesthetic style the game had. DE1 is deserving of a Remake, not a soulless reskin.
Deus Ex Revision is already the most faithful remaster IMO.
Whenever I start a game on my KDE desktop, the notifications get muted automatically. I have no idea why, because I really don’t remember setting it up. Maybe it’s a standard feature that was added at some point. It’s honestly pretty great though.

16·1 month agoThe weirdest thing to me is that the graphics settings don’t make much of a difference. There’s like a 20 FPS gain between “Ultra” and “Lowest” and I could barely tell which one it is just based on the visuals alone. How do Unreal devs mess up their optimization so consistently across many games? Surely the problem must be somewhat related to the engine itself.

873·1 month agoIt’s Unreal Engine 5, so the bad performance is included by default. I’ve played 4 UE5 titles in recent months and all of them ran terrible even though they were far from groundbreaking graphically.
Hell, I could play the gorgeous KCD2 on high settings at a buttery smooth 60FPS but apparently I need to set everything to the very lowest and down to 720p to get the same result on much worse looking Unreal games.

Gaming@lemmy.ml•what is going on with all the system requirements in games?
2·2 months agoNah, I have a slightly better system and the game still runs like total ass. I had to have everything cranked to the absolute lowest with dynamic resolution just to hit a shaky 50-60FPS with dips down to 20. It’s just another insanely unoptimized Unreal Engine 5 game and it doesn’t look good enough to justify the performance.
