  • And after 6 months find out that you never actually did that so delete windows/migrate it into a VM and enjoy the extra game drive you won.

This is where I am at. As of last week I banned Windows to the deeps of a vm and went all in on Linux (Mint, in this case). Dual bootet for a couple of months but since I never used Windows outside of a vm anyway…

Havnt had a single issue with games so far, besides some very minor hick ups that were resolved easily. Than again, im lucky that the game so play have been supported so far.

  • Gothic was one of the games of my youth. I am realy looking forward to the remake, thanka for bringing it up.

Recently I have been playing Valheim with my wife again. After a year of more or less non stop caring for the twins we have finally arrived at the point were we can game again together and it makes for even shorter nights but is such a treat to have that back. We used to game and hike a lot together before the children were there. Looking forward to go on long hikes again too, but for now a shared boat ride into the mistlands will do just fine.

  • Total War: Warhammer 3. I play it more or less exclusively with a buddy in multiplayer. Been playing since part 1 came out. I love how the addition of magic and flying creatures changed the Total War formula up, the immense size of the map, the mixture of races.

Rimworld with a couple of hundert mods is still at the top, although I tend to let it rest for some months before I pick it up again.

Baldurs Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2 are my favourite RPG games.

Used to play Skyrim with a bassilion mods a LOT and love it for the hours of enjoyment, but after so many years I have possibility played enoth of it… But who knows, might feel the itch and spend 48 hours trying to get every mod to run just to stop playing after one hour again at some point.

Loved the Mass Effect Triology. Only did one playtrough, that was intens and great.

Binding of Isaac is still my go to for a quick 30 minutes gaming session when I feel like it. I realy suck at it too, so after 12 years there’s still a lot left to do.

The researchers found surprisingly high levels of microplastics in the brain tissue. The concentration of plastics in the brain was much greater than that found in the liver or kidney samples. It was also higher than levels previously reported in placentas and testes. The median amount of total plastics for 2024 brain samples was 4917 micrograms per gram, and for 2016 samples, it was 3345 micrograms per gram. For comparison, the 2024 liver and kidney samples were 433 and 404 micrograms per gram, respectively.

Even more concerning was the finding that the amount of plastic in the brain was increasing over time. Brain tissue samples from 2024 had significantly higher levels of microplastics than samples from 2016, representing an approximate 50% increase in just eight years.

Isn’t that the same information just repeated after each other?

To measure the microplastics, the researchers first chemically dissolved the tissue. This created a liquid mixture. They then spun this mixture at very high speeds in a machine called a centrifuge. This process separated out any undissolved materials, including plastics, into a small pellet. Next, they heated this pellet to a very high temperature (600 degrees Celsius), a process that breaks down the plastic.

Why does this sound like somebody explaining this to a 10 year old?
