There are versions that ship with the proprietary nvidia driver. The reason people have issues is the distros shipping the open version due to philosophy or distros shipping the open version for compatibility reasons. The open version is worse but at least it works the proprietary version doesnt support a lot of cards.

Mac will never get 100% market share because there will always be people that hate their workflow. Linux can offer a tailored version to everyone’s liking.

SteamOS builds off arch pretty rarely so unless they plan on ddosing for 6 months this doesnt impact steamOS at all.

You couldn’t be more wrong. Longtime users love hearing peoples experience switching over. Its been a long time since I was a linux noob but i want to be aware of the problems they may be facing so I can help out or steer them to another way of doing it.

Also sometimes its funny because its just a different variant of the same issues, nvidia drivers, audio, distro randomly breaks in the install phase.

KDE is a awesome desktop. Its really powerful and can be bent to liking with window rules and hotkeys.

Dual booting is fine. Microsoft destroying bootloaders is mostly a meme off a few bugs. Any distro that ships an up to date kernel and drivers is good. Fedora/Ubuntu. Bazzite is kinda weird for gamers because it just makes every problem harder to solve. If you never tinker then its fine but Bazzite feels more restrictive than windows without knowing how it works.

I only notice the weight when i drop it on my face. Otherwise it just feels like a phone.

People win fps tournaments with controller now. Its harder for the mouse and keyboard player because they have to actually aim. Snap aim + look speed being slowed as you have your scope on people is bullshit. Someone slides past and your aim follows them. Thats never happening on mouse and keyboard and the player has to track that and move.
