  • You are 100% right, people tend to make up crazy theories while trying to make Google more evil than it is. My main issues with Google are:

    • using Youtube viewing data to push braindead clickbait content at everyone to maximize engagement. It’s been proven many time that watching Youtube radicalizes people and it’s a huge problem affecting entire generations
    • Locking down platforms like Android: first paying companies to put their apps and services on phones and now locking down AOSP and side loading. It’s just a dick move to force everyone to use their platform and sell more ads on it. They are trying to do the same with web
    • supporting fascists financially and selling tech to war criminals, obviously, but that’s unrelated to data

I don’t care that much for other products because I don’t use them, I have all the ads blocked and it doesn’t really affect me.

  • The black out that was because Endesa, Iberdrola and the rest of PRIVATE companies didn’t do their job right. The car charging infrastructure (that I’m a user of) that is build by PRIVATE companies.

And what the government is supposed to do is to REGULATED those companies. It’s supposed to have a energy policy that will not destabilize and collapse the grid. If it pushes green energy it should also invest in proper energy grid that can handle it.

Same for car charging infrastructure. They let private companies do whatever the want while subsidizing them with public money. Now I have to use private chargers using private apps that require all personal data. Chargers that were build using money from my taxes. The government ignored the whole thing for years and is only now building first public charging stations. This is all coming years later than mandated by EU. So they are supposedly pushing sustainable transportation but in reality they just gave bunch of money to private companies creating the worst system possible.

And it’s the same with Renfe. They pushed public transport while mismanaging the infrastructure. They spend bunch of money connecting smaller town and increasing numbers of passengers pushing the tracks beyond its limit.

So they have good ideas, I like the direction they want to take us but they are terrible executing at managing things. It’s Podemos releasing rapists from prisons by mistake but on national scale.

Still, it’s not that I strongly oppose PSOE. I more tired of their bullshit and I think a change will not be that bad. Maybe it will give them chance to change leadership, reorganize, unite on the left… Having Vox in the ruling coalition will suck but things can’t continue the way they are now.

  • I don’t know what you’re talking about. Is there some language barrier here?

I’m not asking the whole government to do anything. I’m saying they terribly mismanaged some things and it’s time for them to go. Not because of this one accident but because of all the issues Renfe had in recent years, because of the energy grid issues and because of how they fucked up car charging infrastructure. And they will go after the next elections. The did some good things, it will be a shame that lose some momentum on worker rights and environmental issues but I don’t think it’s enough to ignore their corruptions and incompetence in other areas.

I’m also not saying anything of this is because of Podemos voters. I’m saying it’s your problem. If you think PP and Vox is the same you simply don’t know that much about politics and probably vote based on some propaganda and/or emotions.

  • The next government will not be far-right. Vox is not going to win. It will most probably be in the coalition but we will see how much influence it will have over the policy. At this point this result is pretty much inevitable. PSOE had too many corruption scandals and mismanaged too many things like the infrastructure (as we can see). It’s amazing it lasted as long it did with its dependency on separatist parties and deals undermining democracy. They are doing good on economy and I applaud them for standing up for Palestine (it’s great not having to be ashamed of your government) but I think it’s time for them to go. It’s hard to tell what PP-Vox government will look like. Everyone was afraid of Meloni and she’s doing fine. My hope is that PP will not fuck up the economy but will improve infrastructure. I don’t think they will do much on social issues, they tried already in the past and failed. We’ll see, I will follow next elections closely and decide were to cast my vote. I don’t think it will be PSOE though, probably Sumar or PP.
