Just started using it. With zero xp posts an article expecting to matter.

I use Thunderbird too, and have so for years. The RSS implementation sucks. It will randomly crap out and autopause all feeds. The data often corrupts rendering the link folder useless and is very difficult to properly purge as the gui process will often fail. You’ll have to look up instructions and delete the folders manually. Very disappointing, but better than nothing.

I’ve been using open source RSS apps from Fdroid and have yet to find one that doesn’t have glaring bugs. I don’t understand why feed reading is so difficult. Probably that it supports so many forms of media but I’m just a clueless scrub that isn’t posting to blogs so what do I know.

It has a ‘run installer’ option during setup (and in that games options section afterwards)

This is what really pisses me off about the Linux community. Everyone says the same thing about every distro, except Arch. That shits apparently for hardcore CLI only programmers or something.

Mint’s whole paradigm is an OS that emphasizes stability and usability and you claim Debian is more stable even though it’s the cutting edge base of an entire distro tree while Mint is 2 years behind it’s Ubuntu base to ensure functionality? Make it make sense.

I currently have a dual boot with Win10 as I just moved to Mint this month. The MS store keeps trying to update or install apps with copilot even though I don’t have it installed. Like, I uninstalled the notepad app just to prevent this crap and they keep adding it to other apps. The latest one is the GD photo viewer so I had to uninstall that and find an OS one to replace it with.

Win10 is NOT a safe haven and I am so glad I’ve switched to Linux and recommend it to everyone who’ll listen. The only reason I keep Win10 on is in case I forgot an important file or something (I always do), or absolutely need it for some software (no idea if any exist for me) I use that only works with MS.

When you say “won’t properly display” it is too vague. Just from my experience ‘not properly displaying’ can mean a solid black screen, a black screen full of RGB noise, or a display that is blurry and stripped but you can actually interact with the OS. Could you clarify this?

I’d be happier if they just fix whatever breaks click highlighting in the terminal. I hate that shit and I think it’s accidentally attempting to paste via Ctrl-V that does it so F my habitual ass.
