One of the climbers died making this movie. The director wanted to stop shooting, but other climbers convinced him to keep going, because otherwise the one who died would have died for nothing.

The best way for the Right to defeat the Left in an argument is to unload a torrent of lies, half truths, complete nonsense, and other disinformation. The idea is to overwhelm the other side’s ability to form a coherent response, because there’s too much to unpack.
Trump knows Kennedy is an idiot, but he’s a useful idiot in that he forces the Left to deal with him.

Nice little SF adventure. In the future, you can buy immortality in decade segments. The Foundation that controls the lifesaving process demands the wealthy sign over all their assets [at least $100 million] for ten years of youthful vigor. A few finance geniuses have managed to stay alive for a century or more…
I’m much more impressed by the person who has a job and runs a marathon in their hometown then I am by the rich folks who buy their way to the top of the world.
Back in 2002, Charles Lindbergh’s grandson flew across the Atlantic solo. He did a comparison of all the things his small plane had that the Spirit of St. Louis lacked. Autopilot, radar, GPS, full radio communication with the ground. The climbers today are just folks who are in good shape and have money to burn.
