i had been running the same Asus VA24EHE for like 4 years and didnt think it was holding me back that much. kept telling myself ill upgrade when i upgrade the whole setup.
finally just pulled the trigger on an LG 27GP850 on sale, had a bit of extra money and decided that was going in the PC fund.
first day using it i was convinced something was off. motions looked almost too smooth? like it felt fake. was playing Cyberpunk and literally had to stop and just move the camera back and forth for a solid minute. my brain was not ready.
also didnt realize how washed out my old monitor was until everything started looking like an actual game and not a screenshot from 2013. the colors are just not comparable.
only thing i wish someone told me is to immediately turn off overdrive or at least drop it to medium because i had ghosting for two days before i figured out what was happening.
anyway if youre still sitting on a 60hz monitor and waiting for the “right time” just do it. its not even close to a subtle difference its like switching from glasses with the wrong prescription to the right ones.
