Maybe a hot take, but I don’t care this game being taken down as it is just an interactive movie and not a real game. It’s a shame a media is taken offline though. But at least it does not hurt me personally.

And you don’t see the systemic issue? Like… You are aware that games you like could be affected by the same issue eventually?

If it’s a movie with some interaction the solution is easy: release it as a movie without the interaction.

But… That’s then something different. How would that solve anything?

“You like medium a bit can’t access it anymore? They should just release it as medium b”

Not only don’t they plan to release it as a movie, so your solution is just as helpful as suggesting to just not remove it from the store, it also changes the whole medium. Like, I get that interactive movies aren’t your thing. But if there’s an awesome live dvd by your favourite band that’s taken off the market, suggesting that they should just release it as an audio CD is just completely missing the point.

Honestly, there needs to be laws that when you buy software you get a licence to do as you please without commercial usage with it, and you get the source.

Imagine if HP had just given Stallman drivers for his printer all those years ago, what a different world it’d be now.
