Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected calls from senior ministers to advance ceasefire negotiations and deliberately restricted all aid to Gaza in order to force a surrender from Hamas, internal government transcripts published by Israeli news outlet Channel 13 have revealed.

The transcripts from an Israeli war cabinet meeting on 1 March show that Netanyahu ignored repeated calls from senior defence officials to move to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in order to secure the release of Israeli captives, and then to renew hostilities after.

Netanyahu instead chose to unilaterally break the ceasefire in March and bar all aid to Gaza, in the hopes of forcing a surrender by Hamas.

This was despite Hamas complying with the talks, contrary to the war cabinet’s expectations.

There were a few Palestinians protesting against Hamas a few months ago but Hamas killed them. That said, Hamas does have broad support in Gaza.

I’m friends with American Palestinians and American Jews and I’ll say that the support of each side for their government is irrationally strong. Hamas is legitimately popular on its own. And very few say Hamas should turn in their weapons and release the hostages and surrender even though that would end the war overnight. In this regard, I feel they are similar to Russians & Putin. It just isn’t rational. Hamas is causing harm to Palestinians.

My solution isn’t liked by either side. I say bring back the Ottoman Empire so both can be ruled by someone else. Neither can be trusted to respect the lives of the other without an even bigger entity above them both.

There’s an extremist Turkish-Nationalist group, which would probably be very happy about your argument. They do that sign as an identifyer.

I’ll be honest, as a traditional Catholic, I’d be fine with Crusaders getting the job done, but I am willing to defer to the Ottomans. Either way, the children running Hamas & Israel need to be put in their place.

LOL, so you’re just a larping looser, got it. By the way, trad Caths are nowhere close to traditionally Catholicism, it’s closer to fascism. This is coming from someone who grew up Catholic in the country who protects the pope.

I support the disarming and surrender of Hamas very specifically because it is for the good of Palestinian people. This is the surest way to stop the genocide. One Hamas is eliminated, everyone should recognize Gaza as an independent nation. They should be made to have a pacifist constitution and no offensive military capacity as a requirement for recognition.

You’re cool with the IDF murdering and raping women and children, and starving the population to death? Your excuse for this is “Hamas.”

You’re a fucking joke and you shouldn’t talk about this topic until you learn more about it or become more intelligent.

Actually, I do not support murder or rape. Israel does have a right to retaliate against Hamas, assuring their complete surrender or annihilation, but they also have a duty to civilians that do not cooperate with Hamas. My speaking out against Hamas should not be understood to mean I support all actions of Israel.
