It’s almost like decision-making might be impacted after the country’s entire leadership structure was murdered.
But seriously I think there is a strategy here, which is causing Maximum economic chaos and pain the hopes that Trump will chicken out. It’s not a bad short term strategy but angering other nations may come with longer term downsides.

But I thought a few murders was all that was holding us back from a spontaneous revolution? /s

God damn he got old.

I have absolutely zero faith that the US government will side with people’s safety over a new toy for the oligarchs. And these companies are openly saying their whole business model is urban transportation. So they will be lobbying to change those laws as soon as they can, and, as we’ve seen with self-driving cars, it will be difficult to stop them.

This is exactly what terrifies me though. Cars are already incredibly dangerous. Now make them 5x as fast and more difficult to control, and allow them to go anywhere and imagine the carnage.

Sure. When they’re done there won’t be a need for any more ethnic cleansing.

It’s mostly marketing honestly. They’re both total ass.

So is this a “let them fight” situation or what?

So I own one of these vehicles and I was thinking there’s no way this can be because I can see my fuel consumption and it is very low. But according to the article it varies greatly by model, and mine was mentioned as being on the low end.
For me at least, I can hear when the engine turns on and it does not do so until the battery range is used up, so there should be no fuel usage during short trips. It seems quite strange that some vehicles would work otherwise.

They’ve always got more money to spend.
Oligarchy and democracy are fundamentally incompatible.

I don’t believe it’s a physical blockade but threats of sanctions against anyone who provides them with oil.

All these boycotts I can’t join since I never paid for them in the first place 😢

“For most users” the whole point here is to gradually get people used to having to show their papers to access the internet. We must accept nothing less than a total reversal here. Give them an inch each day and eventually they’ll have their mile.

If someone was killed as a result then you could argue yes. Doesn’t seem to be the case here, thankfully.

What’s the best alternative in your view?

Yeah but that’s mods. The nature of community moderation means there will always be abuse, but there’s always more communities to join. But here you do get to choose your admins in a similar manner. Thankfully I chose well despite picking somewhat haphazardly.

Depends totally on the instance. I don’t find my admins to be that way, but we’re also on a pretty similar ideological wavelength so I don’t know how it would be if that wasn’t the case.

Damn Reddit admins are fucking weird.
Paraquat is probably the single most toxic herbicide on the market and it should absolutely be banned.
